ACMA launched a programme in mid 2001 to foster and promote
the missionary spirit in the children of the archdiocese of
Singapore. Activity cards were given out during certain catechism
lessons, culminating in a Mission Celebration in October.
The project was first started in some churches in the North
district and in the later years, extended to churches throughout
Singapore who chose to participate in the mission exercise.
Lord Jesus, we lift this Children's Mission Programme
to you. Bless the Mission's success that more people know
you. Bless our parents for their love and support. Bless our
parish priests for their encouragement and dedication. Bless
our catechism teachers for guiding us. Bless us on our journey
in Sunday School. Bless our non-Catholic friends that they
may experience Your wonderful love. And bless us, Lord, that
we may make You known through our prayers, kindness and good
deeds. Amen.
Themes for the Mission programme:
'I am the Light of the World'
'You must love your neighbour as yourself'
'Go tell everyone, everywhere'
Themes for the Mission programme:
Today I pray... for my own needs, for my family, for a friend
who does not know Jesus
Jesus asks me to make Him known to a friend
Our Mission Journey
The objective of the 'Mission for Children 2003' was to raise
the level of missionary awareness amongst our primary catechism
children and in particular, to have each Catholic student
bring at least one non-Christian friend to the Children's
Day Mass and party on 28 Sept 2003.
The good Samaritan,
Who is my neighbour?
Jesus tells me to be a good neighbour
Things I can do to be a good neighbour
